The 60-Day Project Leader  |  1:1 Coaching Program

You've been asked to lead the project, but nobody ever taught you how.

In this 60 day 1:1 coaching program, you'll go from handed a project with no playbook to running your cross-functional project with the process, documents, reporting system, and judgment of a trained project leader.

12 available spots at a time.  Right after checkout, you'll set up your account and book your kickoff session.

The Situation

It probably went something like this:

Your boss pulled you aside and said the company needs someone to run a big initiative. Multiple teams. Executive visibility. And they picked you, because you get things done.

Then the meetings started, and it became clear that getting things done as an individual contributor and leading a cross-functional project are two different jobs.

You're fielding questions about the project, and discover it was never fully defined, and stakeholders you didn't know existed are appearing in your inbox.

You're figuring it out in real time, in front of the people who decide what you get handed next.

It's working so far. You'd just rather not find out where it stops working.

This Is For You If

  • You're leading a cross-functional project right now, or you'll be handed one in the near future
  • Your project has real stakeholders, real visibility, and real consequences if it slips
  • You were picked because you deliver, not because you have a project management background
  • You've got the outcome on your shoulders but no formal process to run it through
  • Your project is already underway and you suspect the foundation underneath it is thinner than it should be

This Isn't For You If

  • You're not currently leading a project and don't expect to be soon — this program is built around live work
  • You're preparing for the PMP or another certification exam — this is applied practice, not exam prep
  • You need your whole team trained; this is 1:1 coaching for the person accountable for the project
  • You've been running cross-functional projects for years and already have a system that holds up

The Details

Seven 1:1 forty-five minute sessions over 60 days (approximately every 9-10 days), built around your actual project. In addition, weekly forty-five minute group office hours give you a place to bring questions.

This is the arc of the program, not a fixed script. If your project's already underway, we start from where it actually stands and build or firm up what's missing, not by redoing what's already solid.

Days 1 to 20: Build the foundation.

We start with a 1:1 kickoff session mapping where your project actually stands today, what's documented, what's thin, and where the real risk already is. From there, two working sessions to build out or firm up whatever needs it: your business case, scope document, and stakeholder roles and responsibilities. I review your drafts between sessions. By day 20, you have a complete, current project charter package, whether we built it from the ground up or pulled it together from what already existed.

Days 21 to 40: Take control.

You build your risk and issue register and a status reporting system your stakeholders will actually read. The milestone here isn't a practice artifact. It's your first real status report, shipped to real stakeholders.

Days 41 to 60: Handle the messy middle.

Every project hits it. Slippage, scope creep, a stakeholder who stops responding. These sessions are live problem-solving on whatever your project throws at you, so you learn to handle it while it's happening instead of reading about it later. We close with a debrief and a forward plan you own without me.

About Your Coach

I'm Jeff Maldavir, founder of Shack Consulting. I've spent more than twenty years leading complex, cross-functional initiatives for organizations including Hyatt, Reebok, JP Morgan Chase, Girl Scouts of the USA, and Blood Cancer United, where I recently helped lead a multi-year national rebrand.

I've also taught project management to more than 1,600 learners, so I know the difference between content that sounds good in a session and content that survives contact with a Monday morning.

I built this program because I kept meeting the same person: talented, trusted, handed a big project, but not all of the tools and strategies they need to be effective. This 1:1 coaching program provides you with the equipment you need to excel in your new role.

What people say about working with me.
